June 2 — Running cause I can

Got up before 6 to run the Dipsea trail again, this time to “halfway rock” and back.   Splits better; shaved about a minute and a half from Sunday’s times.  Ran hard at times, running with emotion.  Learned in last few days that a grad school classmate, the kind of guy everyone really liked,  died of a massive heart attack.   Sadly, he’d lost his wife to cancer a year ago.  Never met his kids, but really feel for them.  Lots of great remembrances from around the country filled the airwaves.  Reminders of the obvious — spend time with people you care about, follow your dreams. Life is short.  Run harder, push the body, stay strong.  Betting that all this exercise buys time, and not just more time, better time.   Can always be run over by the proverbial bus, but am training as best I can to outrun it.
