March 18 — Getting reacquainted with the steps

I could only ignore the Steps for so long.  The steps, the beginning of the Dipsea, and the mentally distressing midpoint of the Double Dipsea.  My trainer says it’s time to start running intervals on the steps.  So, in the 6:30am darkness that comes with daylight savings time, I ran five sets of intervals up and down the first series of Dipsea steps.  With a small headlamp wrapped around one hand, the steps emerged from the dark, a few at a time.  Knowing them as I do, there were no surprises, just the sting and burn as I approached the top, then clicked my watch to mark the interval and headed back down.
